Send Back the Echo with United Strings Europe

Join professional musician Ruth Montgomery in this interactive pre-concert workshop on Saturday 9th May at 6:30pm, as she explores the pieces featured in the concert programme.

The session will explore music by Ludwig van Beethoven, Jessie Montgomery, Gareth Farr, Dame Evelyn Glennie and Jasmine Kent Rodgman. Focusing on each of the five works in turn, Ruth will examine their style, structure, and themes, offering audiences deeper insight into their creation and their significance within the classical music world.

She will be joined by Deaf actor Vilma Jackson, and together they will explore Vilma’s interpretation of Beethoven’s music, alongside wider conversations around deaf identity and the experience of music beyond hearing. The session promises to be a powerful and thought-provoking evening..
